Project Description

Project Brief

Frank Abrami born was born in1932 and spent his early childhood growing up in London. From the age of 7 to 14 years, he finds himself trapped in Italy with his family during the tumultuous period of 1939-45.

These are his recollections of his mother and father’s involvement with Resistance fighters in the region, helping and hiding escaped British prisoners of war, and finally of betrayal as his parents are informed upon and taken away to be shot by German occupying forces.

This is his story, a unique account of a London boy growing up in war torn Italy; his experience of extraordinary events seen through the innocent eyes of a child, an innocence which would soon be shattered and lost forever.

The outcome

Client testimonial

This was a project that I had spent many months with my father recording his memories of WW2.
It was very important to us that the finished product reflected the hard work and dedication that we had both given to his story.
Richard Painter’s support was invaluable in bringing the story to the printed book you see here.
The professionalism and expertise he provided from day one was outstanding.
We now have a book printed to the highest specification that I know my father and I am extremely proud.
Many thanks again
Mario Abrami, Herts
